David Venables
Founder
David has over a decade of experience across various PR sectors, including travel, sport and corporate affairs. He has undertaken work across a range of high-profile clients, and brings passion and outside the box thinking to all facets of work.
A keen communicator, David takes pride in cultivating and maintaining relationships personally with stakeholders at every level.
Outside of work, David is a keen sports fan, and can be found regularly attending his local football team’s matches, or keeping abreast of the latest NFL, F1 or Rugby scores. David also enjoys unwinding with some good music, food and drink (preferably a Guinness), travelling to new places and taking to the golf course, running and the gym.
Our History
Our history stems from generations of business established by family. Upon serving in World War II, David’s grandfather, William Venables, set up his own advertising business in Essex, England. Naming the business “WVB Advertising”, William combined his own name (WV), with the inclusion of the letter “B” supposedly being in tribute to his wife of many years, Betty.
A staple of independent advertising throughout the mid to late 20th Century, WVB Advertising had the connections and ability to remain a constant feature in many national and local publications as the media landscape boomed. The successes continued right until William retired from working in the early 2000’s, leaving WVB Advertising to be left to the annuls of history.
After David studied journalism at University, followed by internships at a national newspaper, he transitioned into full-time Public Relations work, starting off earning his stripes at a high-profile corporate agency before moving over full-time to one of their clients in-house, a global sports league that were expanding their U.K and European operations.
Seeking a further challenge, David moved into the travel and tourism PR space before finally establishing his own agency. Paying homage to his grandfather’s business, and conveniently having had his grandfather’s name as his own middle name, DWVB Media was born to carry the legacy of WVB Advertising into the 21st Century.
